As digital marketers, we can all agree that acquiring more Facebook Likes for the brands we represent is a good thing. A large number of Facebook Likes shows that there is a large amount of interest in your brand. Brands with a large number of Facebook Likes seem trendier and generally more important. So many digital marketers spend so much time attempting to generate as many Likes as possible to the point of obsession. But what do you do once you get all those Likes?
The first thing that so many digital marketers think when they see a Facebook Page with hundreds, thousands, or even millions of Likes is how to get more. Many use the “Times Ten” rule, which states that if you have a certain number of Likes before bringing in a digital marketing agency, then you should have ten times that number. This is the moment when digital marketers start pitching lookalike campaigns and coming up with interesting content ideas to try to get their fans to share, driving more Likes.
Brand marketers need to do more with Facebook Likes than use them to drive more Likes. A Facebook Like is not a conversion. On its own, a Facebook Like does nothing to increase ROI. Without at least driving fans to your brand’s website or product landing page, those Likes are most likely going to waste.
Use your Facebook Likes to build a community of loyal customers by engaging with them. At Business Plus One, we excel in creating consumable content that your customers will love based on your brand’s tone, driving traffic to your website and generating conversions, and responding to customer inquiries in order to show them that your brand is a brand that cares. Facebook Likes are great, but unless you make those Likes effective, they are being wasted and your customers will be left wondering why they aren’t hearing from you.
